Funny People

...or the lack there of...

Yes, I know that Judd Apatow is a genius (not really) and Seth Rogen is too (anyone see Observe and report) and now we add Adam "over rated" Sandler and Funny People is going to be the funniest movie of all time!!!!!

Hang on a second!

Knocked Up had its moments but was way too long and dragged in story not once; not twice but many times. Mr. Apatow YOU NEED AN EDITOR! 40 Year old Virgin was probably his best film but Apatow still doesn`t like to cut stuff out. Does he even have an editing process?

What I am trying to say is that Judd Apatow is on his way to being the comedy version of Eli "Hack" Roth. These two are only good and people like their films because they are told to by the media shoving them down their throats. Sorry Judd...its too bad that you can produce better films then you actually direct. Your best film that you had your hands on was Forgetting Sarah Marshall and all you did was front the money...

JCVD

Where have you been Jean Claude Van Damme?!?
Photobucket

We all remember the hits; Hard Target, Universal Soldier, Bloodsport and Kickboxer. But does anyone remember recent Van Damme films like The Shepherd and ... uh...nevermind. I only have extremely crappy recent Seagal films in mind.

At the age of 47 Van Damme has come into his own. JCVD is a no holds barred spotlight on the "muscles from brussels. Van Damme's performance is indeed "oscar worthy" as Time magazine reported. This man really opens himself up and humbles himself in front of you. Of course the story and setting are ficticious but what they surround are Van Damme playing himself and using his own life stories to drive parts of this film.

If you are a fan of Van Damme you have to check this one out. Its the documentary without the documentary. I will admit that I was a huge Van Damme fan in my youth. I haven't seen anything of his in quite some time. I picked JCVD up because I heard it was good from just about every review I read. I loved it! I also love how he really opened himself up for this flick. I will even admit to getting a little teary towards the end when he has a monologue about his life and his many bad decisions.

So Mickey Rourke should have won the Oscar. To hell with the holier than thou Sean Penn. I don't give a blue hell what Spicoli has to say on screen or off so take your award and shut it! Sad thing is my pick for Oscar gold never had the chance. Too bad hollywood has forgotten about ole JCVD.

Random Shite

In no particular order...for Saturday March 7th and Sunday March 8th.

-Watchmen opened to $55.6 mil. Not ridiculous money but I am happy with it. Go see it, it was good.

-Hate the warm weather. Need cold. Yep, I enjoy the cold...sue me!

-Filming a short film next week. I get to be a guy who carries a pair of six shooters! Can you say "I'm here huckleberry; and thats just my game."

Star Trek

HOLY PHOTON TORPEDOS BATMAN!!! Dare I say that Star Trek may finally be dubbed "cool"?
From the looks of this trailer this could be the case. I was extremely skeptical before today but now I am extremely pumped to see this film! We have handed ole JJ another classic television series/movie franchise which he excelled in (Mission Impossible 3) hopefully he will repeat himself.

And to answer your question, yes...I can quote Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan from start to finish. Does this make me a trekkie/trekker? Suppose so.
